* At least 40 000 people displaced.
* All Gaza City health facilities and electricity supply disrupted.
International Humanitarian Law requires all medical personnel and facilities be protected at all times, even during armed conflict. Attacks on them are grave violations of International Humanitarian and Human Rights laws. Access to heath is a fundamental human right.

Here in Australia there are many of us who are angry at the Israeli government and army for their invasion of Gaza.
Israel's hypocrisy is astounding - how can they continue to excuse their inhumane behaviour in this recent incursion by referring to the Holocaust. They blame it on Hamas but anyone with intelligence could see that if blockades had been lifted years ago allowing the Gaza population to food, fuel, medical supplies and all the other things most of us take for granted, this invasion would not be happening.

I am a white American who learned Arabic by living in Jordan with a wonderful Muslim family. I teach Arabic at a Middle School in the United States - these kids are 11-14 years old.
It's disgusting to see the way this humanitarian crisis is portrayed in the US media. Mostly I am disgusted by the idea that Israel is "defending" itself. Killing thousands of innocent people is not defense. The death toll of the Israeli civilians remains extremely low. I don't understand how Israel can justify these attacks.
It's inhumane and disgusting. Also, as of two days ago I heard reports of, "approximately 1,000 Palestinians are dead, at least half of which are civilians." I absolutely cannot believe that 500 of the people killed could be Hamas militants.
Anyway, if Israel would have actually done something to appease Palestinians before 2006, like revert to the 1967 borders, cut down on settlements, allow Palestinians to become CITIZENS, etc. then maybe Gazans wouldn't have elected Hamas. I totally sympathize with the majority of Palestinians who felt so frustrated with Fatah, a political party that did nothing to secure their rights and freedoms, that they turned to a terrorist group like Hamas. At least they claimed they would DO something!
Keep posting. As you know, Israel is not letting any foreign reporters into Gaza now. We need people like you to help the rest of us stay informed. God bless you. Stay safe.
